"Rexrider"
First World's End Book #1

In his fiction series "First World's End," Mark C. Angel has created a world where steampunk realism meets late cretaceous (antediluvian if you like) dinosaurs.

This first book "Rexrider," follows the adventures of Tamik as he struggles to find his calling. He learns that there is more to life than living for revenge. "Rexrider" is set In the fertile valley of Stonhaven Protectorate. Tamik is in training with his father to take over as the primary rider of their dinosaur mount, a predatory animal similar to but smaller than the T-rex. When his father is badly injured during a hunt in the wilderness, Tamik's increased duty to his father and his people, distract him from his personal problems with a member of the elite Order of Skywatchers, mystics who sometimes seem to be above common law.

"Don't be fooled by the title or the cover. This is no two-dimensional sic-fi fluff. The story of Rexrider is deeper and broader than one might guess at first glance. The action is gripping with visceral emotional undertones. There is a whole back-story context that makes you wish you could veer off onto various offramps and learn more about all the characters. That doesn't mean that the characters are underdeveloped; they are definitely unique and broadly developed characters; it's just that the whole Rex world is fascinating enough to call for deeper exploration. I'm looking forward to the next installment. This thing should be a mini-series! A video game! An epic feature film! A virtual reality sensory deprivation tank IMAX psychedelic roller coaster!"
Amazon Review - Jeffy D.

"I usually don't read this type of book but a friend suggested it and I was quite surprised at the detailed description of this imaginative world. The characters are fully developed and interesting to follow. The plot lines keep the readers interest. It is the kind of book that you don't want to end, because when it is finished you have to leave the community of Rex and you really don't want to. Maybe if there is enough interest in this book Mark Angel will delight with us with a sequel."
