ePortfolio Self Review
IST501 M12.2: ePortfolio Self Review
Review of Mark Angel’s ePortfolio

I decided to attach my ePortfolio for my CSUMB MIST program to my markangelhealingarts.com webpage because my whole reason for doing the MIST program is to further develop and expand my Transformation Through Qigong (TTQ) concept. Since my TTQ project is intimately connected to my teaching, I felt it appropriate to include the MIST ePortfolio.
I have accepted the feedback from two of my peers in the MIST program, and tweaked my ePortfolio accordingly. The feedback I received was primarily focused on making sure the pages were consistent in appearance. Some content was adjusted, but mostly it was formatting and breaking out pages and buttons, etc. I look foward to getting feedback from my professor next, to further develop the quality and accessibility of my web presence. Perhaps some pointers on getting discovered in web searches. Right now I don't think anyone is finding my page without a proper invitation, gold embossed.
Things that jump out at me when I first open my homepage are as follows::
In general, I liked the page. I am happy with the feedback I have received so far. I am always open to constructive feedback and will make changes over time.
At the top of the homepage are several links to other pages. There may actually be too many of them, but I have not had anyone complain about that so far?
This adventure of joining the MIST program at CSUMB has been extremely rewarding and productive. It is giving me the guidance and the impetus to develop my career in ways I couldn’t do alone (and I tried over the past five years). The outcome may be different from how I expect, and that is the beauty of learning something new. Expanding my horizons in such a massive way as this program is doing, at the age of...well, let’s just call it my mid-age expansion.

Things that jump out at me when I first open my homepage are as follows::
- The picture on the header clearly represents the concept of Taiji and Qigong and Taoist philosophy symbolized by the yin and yang, and then there is the goofy guy doing a taiji pose...
- As I scroll down, there is the option to contribute financially, which is helpful when I am offering classes or when people find they benefit from the content of the website.
- Then there is a clear description of the types of services offered including Qigong classes, Trigger Point massage, and Health and Wellness coaching.
- A brief explanation of Qigong is next.
- The homepage ends with some testimonials from clients and students.
In general, I liked the page. I am happy with the feedback I have received so far. I am always open to constructive feedback and will make changes over time.
At the top of the homepage are several links to other pages. There may actually be too many of them, but I have not had anyone complain about that so far?
- There is a page to see the introductory and teaching videos I have produced in the MIST program. I think this is a key page since it shows what I do and offers any visitor some useful information and training. It also serves to help my students learn more about the elements of form that I teach.
- There is, of course, my MIST ePortfolio page that is now looking pretty consistent and has some deliverables from each of my classes this semester. The video page actually is mostly deliverables from IST531 last semester, but I didn’t label it as such. I may build that in later.
- The blog is an ongoing project where I put tips and ideas that reflect my thinking on things that relate to the overall theme of the site.
- There is an “About” page that provides a brief bio on myself. That may need some revising, but it is pretty current.
- The “Classes” page shows where and when I teach, which is pretty limited right now due to COVID-19.
- The “Rexrider” page links to a novel I wrote years ago. It is still available to download on Amazon (even though I don’t see any profits from it). I leave it there as a part of my whole package since I loathe to develop a separate webpage just for that at this time. Maybe someday…
- And finally a “Contact” page just in case anyone is interested enough in my work to actually get in touch.
